Project 589-2017 – Guidance on Assessing and Reporting Cumulative Impacts of Water Withdrawal on Environmental Flow Needs

Project Description: The Contractor will develop a comprehensive report that summarizes existing approaches developed by domestic and international jurisdictions which are leaders in assessing, measuring and reporting cumulative impacts on environmental flow needs from surface water and groundwater withdrawal. The report will provide guidance that jurisdictions can use to assess and report cumulative impacts of water withdrawal, both surface and groundwater, on environmental flow needs (EFN), including a review of existing standards, procedures, desktop databases and other tools. The report will explore three or four leading jurisdictions as case studies and will include specific recommendations for potential future CCME work on cumulative impact standards, procedures and tools.
