CCME has endorsed Canada-wide standards (CWS) that will significantly reduce mercury emissions from the coal-fired electric power generation (EPG) sector.  A companion to the CWS is the guidance document Monitoring Protocol in Support of the Canada-wide Standards for Mercury Emissions from Coal-fired Electric Power Generation Plants.  This document provides guidance to jurisdictions on monitoring and reporting to assess achievement of the CWSs for coal-fired EPG plants.
